I have to send out a big thanks to Mary this week because I am living off of her positive breadcrumbs at this point and would perhaps starve without them. So, thank you Mary!

One thing that is very difficult as a book reader is to stay focused on the story and relationships in the here and now, rather than viewing them from way down that long hallway of 8 books. I'm personally not seeing a lot of differences in the relationship between Claire and Jamie as portrayed in book/TV. Is there sex in the book. Sure there is, I actually have a copy of the spreadsheet that references every sex scene in the entire series (yes, such a thing does exists). There isn't as much sex in DIA as many seem to think and in reading those scenes there is not much of a "profound connection" to be found in a lot of those scenes. The best part of one of those scenes we got a couple of weeks ago when Jamie spoke the Gaelic prayer over a sleeping Claire. And the pregnant sex scene from the book wasn't the lovely connection that we saw on TV; it was more about Jamie worrying that he might pummel the baby in the head (hurt the baby)if they had sex. Two of the scenes from the book were about anger and possession on Jamie's part and "hmmm... interesting, I guess.. a little to the left, please" on Claire's part. I went back to the book looking for something profound and didn't find it. And for anyone who is missing all of the loving looks and tender touches going on between Sam and Cait, you miss a whole lot less if you watch it on StarzPlay instead of the big screen TV.

Not sure I understand how the episodes can be focused on Claire's desperation knowing that she's soon to return to the 20th C (vis a vis Episode 1) when SHE DOESN'T KNOW ABOUT IT. Episode 1 was a flash forward, Claire hasn't experienced it yet. Returning to Frank is not even in Claire's head space. Nor should it! They are not in a position to be falling apart. They need to stay strong and focused right now. If anything, Claire is thinking of dying at Jamie's side on the battlefield. The audience is the only one that knows about Episode 1 and we have been on a roller coaster of "I've got a great idea! Working... working...working... fail-rinse-repeat suspense. Just as it was in the book.

Mary, if you ever allow Blake to read the book, when he gets to the part on the Randall wedding from this episode I hope you make a podcast to reveal his reaction to it.

My guess regarding Ira: I think he's gonna pop over to work with Ron on the new Bryan Cranston project.

I think an "I love me a Jabroni" tattoo would look nice on Blake. I'll leave it to Mary to figure out where to put it :-)

To end with a thought provoking puzzle: Does Gaelic sound like Garlic, or does Garlic sound like Gaelic? Hmmmmmm....

Wait! Do you see something different on StarzPlay from what we see on subscription (big screen) TV!!?

Also, re Gaelic and garlic - depends on whether the bulb was so named before or after the founding of Boston 😊. Although Gaelic might have been Gadlig then...

Diane, No extra content, but you would be surprised at the things you catch watching on StarzPlay that you miss on TV. I started watching exclusively on the computer a few episodes into Season 1. If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend it!

Thank you, Last12C. A friend who watches on her computer says it seems more intimate. The scenery and sound are so lush on TV, but I'll try a re-watch with the app during droughtlander!

Blake, I know we will all miss Ira! :( But, don't you think you were a little harsh on the new writers?

Last12C - I watch exclusively on STARZ Play on my MacBook with a nice 23" HD Monitor and I like the clarity of the image and the close intimacy with the screen. I have the episodes on my DVR until I can get the DVD. I love that Seasons 1 & 2 are all available on STARZ along with all the podcasts for both seasons.

Last12C - Claire is aware that she made a promise to Jamie that if Culloden went sideways that she would go back to Frank. That has to be in the back of her mind as only hours are left for she and Jamie to try to stop the battle from happening. They are in a desperate attempt for one more Hail Mary because if they can't stop it, Jamie could be killed. She would rather die with him and break her promise, but she can't do that because she is pregnant. In the book, she is in denial that she is pregnant. She has only missed one menstrual cycle and she has been starving and under a great deal of stress which can stop menses. Deep inside she can see the changes in her body and so does Jamie. She knows that her time with Jamie is dwindling so all of their attention and effort is in preventing the inevitable. SIGH : (

hmm...thats good question. I'm open to the idea that I was a little harsh. I mean, I spoke the truth about their careers and accomplishments. It is a little upsetting that a power show like Outlander can't attract elite writers and that they have brought in this greener talent. But like I said at the end of that segment, I think ultimately, regardless of their credits, having new blood on the show is a good thing. So, let's see how they turn out.

**** WARNING - Lots of book spoilers! Do NOT READ THIS, BLAKE! ***

Yup, Claire suspects that she's preggers and she did make that promise to Jamie, BUT we have to stay in her headspace at_this_moment. She had no intention of returning. She was stubbornly insisting that she was going to dress up like a boy and follow Jamie into battle. She didn't cave until Jamie pleaded with her to return and save the child so that a bit of him would go on. (Sob!) And Claire HATED Bree for it until she grew into a lovable little human being.

I recall a lot of "Huh? Who dat?" when they announced the current group of writers at the start of Season 1 - and they knocked out of the park!
