I am a 60-ish Australian woman, an occupational therapist by trade, with many years working in the field of mental health. I’m a mother of two adult daughters and a creator of messy, wild gardens. Like many of you reading this, my life changed a lot when I saw a TV show called Outlander. I watched Season 1 through the holidays in December 2015 and there was no turning back now, sassenach. I read all the books in quick succession, then waited impatiently for Dragonfly in Amber to come to our screens. I was so affected by these stories that I felt drawn to Scotland. In September 2016, I traveled there for a month’s holiday, and one of the highlights was forming a strong connection with other Outlander fans and watching some Outlander Season 3 filming. We formed the @newglasgowgirls, which has been a fun fan experience with a small group of women from around the world. Hungry for more, I returned to live in Scotland for a year in 2017/18 and was able to visit many Outlander locations and watch lots of Season 4 filming. I really enjoy writing about these places and sharing the Outlander connection with you.
