Break out the whisky, ladies and gents, because we are finally getting Outlander! And, it’s coming a tad sooner than we thought—STARZ confirmed today that Season 3 will premiere Sunday, September 10. B’bye, #Droughtlander. Hit the jump for more details and the first Season 3 poster!
We still don’t know how Outlander will begin in terms of the story, or how they will tackle the monumental size of Voyager, the third book in Diana Gabaldon’s series on which Season 3 is based. But, we now have a date to look forward to when it comes to our most missed show of the season.

Season 3 is set for 13 episodes, likely with no interruptions. I’m no math wiz, but let’s give it a try. If they air all episodes without a break, we might be prepping for the winter holidays with a side of Fraser magic as Season 3 will likely end on Sunday, Dec. 3.
Let’s break out the whisky. Wait, did I say that already? Who cares, it bears repeating given that we have less than two months to new Outlander—let’s celebrate!
For those who don’t know yet, Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe will headline the Outlander panel at this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego. The panel is set for Friday, July 21 at 5 p.m. PST. Shameless plug: our Outlander Cast Street Team will be there to share all the magic with you, so stay tuned in to all our social channels for the updates.
Also joining the pair on the dais in Ballroom 20 at the San Diego Convention Center are Tobias Menzies (Black Jack Randall/Frank Randall), Sophie Skelton (Brianna Randall), Richard Rankin (Roger Wakefield), executive producer Ronald D. Moore, executive producer Maril Davis, and author Diana Gabaldon.
Fans will have multiple chances to get their Outlander fix at Comic-Con. Starz has scheduled an autograph signing session with the cast in its booth, No. 4029, on July 22; on July 21 at 1:45 p.m. PT, Rankin will be one of six men on EW’s Brave New Warriors panel in Ballroom 20.
As you saw above, STARZ also released the official Outlander Season 3 key art! Behold.
I’ve gotta tell ya—this is my favorite teaser poster yet. It is character-focused, sums up the plot in one simple image, has great photographic composition and it’s just plain gorgeous to look at.
Oh, and if that wasn’t enough, there’s this mini teaser trailer too (thank you to Outlander Cast Clan Gathering member Jackie Clark for sharing):
