As per the script it was one week later that Roger showed up after Jamie and Claire.

I think Roger’s hesitation was primarily over learning that he has to stay in the 18th century in order to be with Bree. Neither he nor Bree ever intended to stay in this time. And now, as far as he knows, it’s a forever thing. Bree had a lot of time to make her decision, let’s give Roger a break for taking a moment to absorb everything. He did make the right decision. I do think he was shocked about Brees rape and some guilt over whether he could have prevented this, but I dont think he would have a problem raising a child potentially not his…. he was raised by Rev Wakefield, so knows how family love doesnt have to be thru blood…

Re: the baby potentially unable to time-travel—SIMPLE solution: one of the adults holds the infant securely within a SAFE distance of the stones and watches its reaction. Non-traveler Jamie could do this or one of baby’s traveling kin. Of course, we book readers already know [snicker].
