Extremely good point about the danger to society every day black jack was allowed to live!!!
I've thought it is all season that Jamie is not more worried about/protective of Claire and the baby. He specifically talked about how dangerous having a baby was back in Lallybroch when they thought she couldn't get pregnant. During my first pregnancy my husband went pale once when I had trouble catching my breath from LAUGHING – and he's a tough Scot!
So, whether Claire agreed or not, I agree that it would have been more in Jamie's (Season 1) character to try to get her to rest.
I don't remember when Mary said this, but I also thought that poor baby has gotten strangely little attention, if any, all season. A reference or two per episode, at least?
Just another of my, "I'm not in charge but MAYBE if they put a little less of this and a little bit more of that…" Obviously, I'm always right :-).

Oops, meant to say I thought it was ODD all season that so little attention was paid to baby.
While I'm back, since I referred to last season Jamie, I should say that I very much understand that what he suffered changed him and that he has been experiencing severe PTSD. But he has been conversant in complex topics, and seemed to remember that he cared about Claire. Even when he couldn't do much about that, in his state of mind, I can't imagine that he forgot that she was pregnant, or lost the basic ability to worry. He never lost the ability to empathize (a risk), he was capable of that even in the Abbe.
Sorry if I'm too critical. I don't compare show to book. I had never heard of it and only read it after last season. That may be why I have such whiplash from the change in how both Claire and Jamie are written this season and how the treatment of their relationship within the story has changed.

NOTE FOR MARY AND BLAKE: a reader friend told me last season that she missed a touch of Nick and Nora Charles that she had found in the written version of the couple. I had no idea what could be missing from the wonderful duo in the show, but I see what she means this season when they should be equal "partners in crime" with a bit of wit. Thought you would enjoy that as married partners with wit.
