It’s a cool theory that you think Lord John would propose to Brianna. But I doubt John would do that for three reasons, Roger, William and Jamie. First Roger has put his life on hold, probably lost his job at Oxford, sailed an ocean with Stephen Bonnet, and been beaten to a pulp by his future father-in-law. How awful would Lord John be to negate all those sacrifices that Roger’s made in the name of love? And let’s not forget that Lord John is raising Jamie’s other kid. If he married Bree, she’d be step-mother to her own half-brother. John wouldn’t put Brianna in that weird position. Then there’s Jamie. Jamie knows that Lord John is in love with him. So Jamie would break John’s arm for the second time if John were to get in bed with his daughter while thinking about him! No. John was lucky that Jamie kept the friendship with him. He’s not about to rock the boat now.
Regarding the question about the animals and the Fraser’s Ridge homestead, Jamie mentioned that he would have Tom Burley take care of the crops and the animals while they were gone right after deciding to send Brianna to Aunt Jocasta. We met Tom when he was delivering the grain for the whisky still. FYI ?
I always thought Roger should have gone back through the stones to save himself from the Indians and then come back to Brianna. It would have saved himself from a lot of pain and suffering.
Dawn from Jersey here:
I love your theory that Lord John would propose to Bree! Not only is it gallant, but it would also be a way that Lord John could cement himself in Jamie’s life on a permanent basis (until his marriage fizzles that is)
Oh, I can’t believe we only have just a few more episodes to go!
Please Outlander, either order more than 13 episodes a season, or stop wasting time on boring filler, so that the audience could really get enveloped in the season.
It would be a standout.
Bree didn’t personally know Stephen Bonnet.
Pippin is 50 years old.
I just discovered this podcast a few weeks ago, and I’ve been enjoying it… but this podcast sealed the deal!
Mary, do you need a GBF? You had me at singing The Gospel Truth. (Well, you actually had me at singing Savages previously.) But when you said Samwise over Frodo, that was it. If we can just figure out how to crossover Merida into Outlander, we’d be golden!
