Outlander Cast Hosts Mary and Blake and Outlander Cast Senior Writer/News Editor and Patron Anne Gavin – discuss everything YOU had to say about the season 3 finale: Eye of the Storm.
In this episode, we are joined by one of our highest level Patrons, Anne Gavin and we chat about the suspension of disbelief, getting the right tone with the voodoo dancing, the differences between 2nd unit and 1st unit directing, the likelihood of season 5, the finale party, why David Berry has had every single minute that’s ever existed with Mary, and we have an appearance from a Mary and Blake hall of fame caller that was so good that we actually had to play it twice. Yes, the call was THAT good. And much more!

I was irked too when Jamie got arrested again, but forgive it because it put money in my LJG heart-bank, and because it gave J the opportunity to give Claire the pictures of the children, and thence to Geillis. Also, when he says ‘children’ it reinforces the reality of their family unit, including the absent Bree and William)
Love you guys – Droughtlander: WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
Me again – Would LOVE to have a written translation of Kirsten’s “Tuppence Worth.” And wouldn’t it be fun to have a group chat w/her and other non US viewers, plus the ‘Goobyyyy’ lady!!
On the 75 min episode length speculation here goes : the scripts STARZ post for each episode indicate what was filmed, so for those of us who re-watch each episode, religiously, can see where the snips to the dialogue occur. Bottom line the finale script did not have 15 min of edits. If I am wrong STARZ is missing an important marketing meme for their app i.e you faithful app subscriber get the full Director’s cut that our broadcast parameters can’t always accommodate. If indeed they have paid for the filming of the scripts in there entirety , they should be fully recovering their costs via the app subscription base. Since so much TV viewing is migrating to platforms other than the cable box, IMO STARZ needs to get exploiting us droughtlander desperados with ‘premium’ app subscriptions with all sorts of ‘extras’. Lastly STARZ should be taking a page from the PBS Downton Abbey playbook i.e. if you want 8 million viewers per episode, here in the US, you need a regular basic cable channel outlet. I am in the metro Boston market and I could watch Downton Abbey , during it’s 8 year run, simultaneously on 4 basic cable channels: PBS Boston, RI, NH and PBS World. The name of the eyeball game is distribution 🙂
